Wednesday

The Devils Pulpit

The easy section

Sunday August 24th

A speedy evening ascent and descent of Finnich Glen near Killearn
The water level was low, some care needed to avoid bashed shins!

'put your speakers on' - and be prepared for
something different.

Thursday

Finnich Glen & The Devil's Pulpit

A gentle evening gorge walk
8th June

Finnich Glen near Killearn is a special place.
Walking to the entry point gives no hint of what to expect.
It’s a stunning natural gorge which the Carnock Burn has cut through the sandstone rock.
In places the narrow canyon walls reach around 60 feet high and the wooded canopy always gives an intense greenness.
Very dramatic, and very atmospheric!
Also very difficult to photograph.
It was Gordon's first time at taking to the waters.
Elizabeth is definately a water babe.
Colour co-ordinated Bill, looks too cool, must be the water temperature.
Andy, loving every minute, wet, dark and cold.
The videos give some idea of what it’s like to progress upstream.

There are other harder obstacles but you’ll have to go yourself to find out what they are!

It goes without saying that you need to wear a wetsuit/drysuit and buoyancy aid.

Mad or what?
